10 May 2023 - SJM Resorts, S.A. (“SJM”) organised several visits for employees and their children to the National Security Education Exhibition and the 30^th anniversary exhibition of Macau Basic Law during April and May 2023. The visits aimed to strengthen and cultivate patriotic spirit, firmly advancing the cause of “One Country, Two Systems”.

Jointly organised by the Macau SAR Government and the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macau SAR, the National Security Education Exhibition showcased the latest advancements in propelling national security under the leadership of the Central Government. The Macau Government is committed to integrating Macau into the national development plan and safeguarding national safety together with local residents, upholding the principle of “One Country, Two Systems” and building a prosperous and stable Macau. SJM proactively organised visits for a total of 240 employees and children on 15, 16 and 29 April as well as on 9 and 10 May, to enable its staff members and their next generation to learn more about the nation, and enhance their sense of national security.

In addition, SJM organised 80 employees to visit the 30^th Anniversary Exhibition of the Macau Basic Law on 9 and 10 May 2023. The exhibition was jointly held by the Legal Affairs Bureau, Municipal Affairs Bureau, Education and Youth Development Bureau, and the Macao Basic Law Promotion Association. Unlike traditional photo exhibitions, over 350 photos of Macau were displayed by means of interactive multimedia. The photos captured important historical moments, such as the Sino-Portuguese talk, the signing of “Sino-Portuguese Joint Declaration”, and the promulgation and implementation of the Macau Basic Law. This all-rounded exhibition incorporated a quiz game on the Macau Basic Law, which was well received by the participants.

Ms. Angela Leong, Director of SJM and Chairman of the SJM Staff Welfare Consultative Committee, joined the staff visits on 15 April and 10 May. She said: “Rooted in Macau, SJM upholds the patriotic spirit of loving the Motherland and Macau, and has supported the country and the SAR through practical actions. SJM has organised guided tours for its volunteer team members and their families to National Security Education Exhibition, with the ultimate goal to enhance young people’s sense of responsibility towards loving the nation and Macau. SJM will continue to strengthen the patriotic spirit of its team members while actively contributing to Macau’s development.”
