SJM continues to sponsor “Macao Joint School Science Exhibition”
9 August 2024 – SJM Resorts, S.A. (“SJM”) continued its support for the “Macao Joint School Science Exhibition,” organised by the Macao Joint School Science Exhibition Youth Association this year. On 9 August, SJM invited the participating students to experience innovative technology at Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau (“Grand Lisboa Palace”) during an on-site inspection. The meticulously crafted tour showcased the resort’s latest technology, broadening the students’ understanding of technology and encouraging them to explore their potential across diverse fields of study and development.
Accompanied by SJM team members, 18 students and members of the exhibition preparation committee conducted an insightful inspection of the Grand Lisboa Palace. This visit aimed to explore the resort’s energy-saving and environmental protection measures, as well as the latest technology. During the tour, the students gained an in-depth understanding of the operations for all the energy-saving equipment in hotel rooms and the building management system in the Facilities Management Department and understood the importance of technological innovation in the integrated tourism and leisure industry. Following the tour, the students visited Grand Lisboa Palace’s “AI Wonderland,” where they deepened their knowledge of artificial intelligence (“AI”) through fun-filled, interactive games at the themed experience zone. Amazed by all the latest technology, the interactive visit boosted the students’ interest in the future development of high-tech industries in Macau.
Exhibited at the Macao Science Center from 27 to 28 July, the “4th Macao Joint School Science Exhibition” attracted 38 participating teams from Mainland China and Macau, showcasing research results and innovative creations across diverse fields, including AI, tourism management, exhibition planning, medical and health as well as other industries.
SJM places great importance on the development of local talent in Macau and has been actively supporting the Macao SAR Government’s policy principles of “Macau Thrives on Education” and “Building Macau through Talent Training” by organising and sponsoring a variety of activities. Moving forward, SJM will continue to provide diverse learning and development opportunities for young individuals, cultivating local talents across different industries, and help further implement Macau’s “1+4” strategy for moderately diversified development.
