14 July 2023 - SJM Resorts, S.A. (“SJM”), in line with its commitment to “From the society, For the society,” actively supports and organises various types of activities to spread love and help marginalised communities integrate into society. On 14 July 2023, members from Fuhong Society of Macau participated in a workplace experience event at Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau (“Grand Lisboa Palace”). The event included vocational skills workshops and a tour of the resort facilities, providing an opportunity for individuals from vulnerable backgrounds to interact, and encouraging them to enhance their skills and put their talents to good use.

During the vocational skills workshops, SJM staff shared a series of job-seeking strategies and techniques with the members of Fuhong Society of Macau. They also provided an introduction to the recruitment criteria for large-scale integrated resorts, further enhancing the participants’ understanding of resort operations. Following the workshops, the group was guided on a comprehensive tour of the back-of-house area at Grand Lisboa Palace, providing them with valuable insights into the workflow and activities of such establishments.

Participants also made a stop at the Fuhong Society of Macau “Happy Gift” retail point located in the “Made in Macau” shopping area at Grand Lisboa Palace. This retail point specialises in selling creative products handmade or packaged by Fuhong members, creating an enabling platform for persons with disabilities to discover their potential and interests. Finally, the participants had the opportunity to explore Jardim Secreto, where they enthusiastically exchanged their sentiments about the event and received gift packages prepared for them.

With a presence in Macau for over 60 years, SJM has actively supported and organised a wide range of community activities, aiming to strengthen connections with individuals with special needs and promote a caring and inclusive spirit in the community. In the future, SJM will continue to collaborate closely with different organisations, understand the needs of individuals from all walks of life, and contribute to the creation of a diverse and harmonious society.
