(Macau, 6 January 2010) – Provisional data recently published by the LUSA news agency shows SJM continuing to maintain its market leadership position with a market share of almost 31% in December 2009. Additionally, data from the same organisation for the full year of 2009 shows SJM’s market share to have been 29.5%, a clear six percentage points ahead of its nearest competitor.

Commenting on the news, Louis Ng, Director and Chief Operating Officer of SJM, said, "SJM completed the full year of 2009 maintaining its number one market position. Given that the first half of 2009 was a difficult period with significant drops in visitation numbers from the Mainland, SJM can feel rightly proud of this performance. The results also vindicate our approach to the market with the Macau Peninsula continuing to be the pre-eminent destination in terms of revenue and visitation."

He went on, "With SJM's dominant position in both the VIP and mass market gaming segments coupled with a growing slot machine business, we look forward to an exciting and successful 2010."
