Ms. Daisy Ho, Chairman of SJM Holdings Limited, was invited as a guest speaker at the “New Concept, New Mindset, New Development” sharing session held on 17 October 2020 in Macau, during which she shared her insights on post-pandemic economic recovery with representatives from the Macau SAR Government, cultural and tourism industries and tertiary institutions.

Ms. Ho shared her views online on how innovation and technology could help promote diversification of the Macau economy, and accelerate the city’s integration into the Greater Bay Area (“GBA”). With the objective of developing GBA into an “internationally competitive innovation development area”, Macau as a core city in GBA can further explore into the areas of applied technology artificial intelligence, which include talent nurturing. Rooted in Macau, SJM is a pioneer in talent development. According to Ms. Ho, SJM successfully developed a batch of Macau-born young talents in applied technology, who have constantly improved their knowledge and experience through practical work, thereby providing an important human resources for the development of Macau into a “Smart City” and of an International Innovation and Technology Hub in the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong-Macau innovation and technology corridor in the Greater Bay Area. She pointed that Macau’s IT development could offer a solid foundation to the city’s positioning as a “world centre of tourism and leisure” and the “commercial and trade co-operation service platform between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries, facilitating Macau’s moderate economic diversification and integration into the overall national development plan. SJM, with a patriotic heart, will continue to share Macau’s success story with the world - a happy, intelligent, sustainable and resilient story.
