SJM sends warm greetings to Macau’s underprivileged families at Mid-autumn Festival
Forty-eight SJM Volunteer Team members joined the charity visits organised by Sociedade de Jogos de Macau, S.A. (“SJM”) during the Mid-autumn Festival. The Team paid visits to Macau Social Services Centre, Macau Special Olympics, Macau Association of the Hearing Impaired and others, covering single-parent families, the solitary and vulnerable elderly, families with economic difficulties and other underprivileged groups.
From 16 to 28 September 2020, the SJM Volunteer Team visited more than 200 underprivileged families, bringing with them mooncakes (totalling 1,200 boxes), food hampers and festive blessings.
In addition, the Team visited Macau Special Olympics, Macau Social Services Centre and Macau Association of the Hearing Impaired, and learnt sign language songs with the families from the Hearing Impaired. The charity visits were held smoothly and successfully under strict preventive measures. The families were thankful to SJM and to the volunteers, hoping to see them more often in the future. The participating staff members found the visits meaningful and pledged their continued support for future events.
