SJM was awarded at the annual vocational skills competition
Committed to nurturing talents for developing Macau into a world centre of tourism and leisure, Sociedade de Jogos de Macau, S.A. (“SJM”) supported the second edition of the Macao Integrated Tourism and Leisure Enterprises Vocational Skills Competition, and organised team members to join the various contests, through which the staff could enhance their occupational proficiencies and strengthen exchange and friendship.
Jointly organised by the Labour Affairs Bureau of the Macau SAR Government and the Macao Federation of Trade Unions, the Competition was held on 29 and 30 July 2020. SJM completed the event with flying colours, including winning the Special Gold Award in the competitions of Table Game Rules, and in Housekeeping and Theme Design, as well as a Silver Award in Room Maintenance and in Fine Dining, respectively.
Ms. Daisy Ho, Chairman of the Board of Directors of SJM, said, “Macau’s tourism industry is facing a tough challenge under the COVID-19 pandemic, but it has never faltered our unwavering confidence in the city. SJM stands firmly with the community in bringing more cheers to Macau. We uphold Dr. Stanley Ho ‘people-oriented’ belief, dedicated to promoting vocational training and career development for our staff members. We encourage our staff to strive for self-improvement, contributing their efforts to the development of Macau as a ‘world centre of tourism and leisure’. The Competition serves as a platform for the industry to sharpen their skills and to cultivate exchanges, and we are delighted to be part of it. ”
