As a sponsor of the China Film Festival for the sixth year, Sociedade de Jogos de Macau, S.A. (“SJM”) aims to promote patriotism in Macau through mass media such as movies. Over 300 film tickets were distributed to its staff members, aiming to enhance their knowledge of China’s development and accomplishments through watching patriotic movies.

Jointly organised by the China Film Foundation and the Macao Media Advancement Association, and supported by the China Film Administration and the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macau SAR, the 17^th China Film Festival held its opening ceremony at the Film and Television Hall of Macau University of Science and Technology on 23 October 2020. A number of great Chinese movies were shown at Cinema Alegria from 24 October to 1 November, including The Captain, My People, My Country, Hsue-shen Tsien, The Climbers, The Founding of an Army, Sheep Without a Shepherd, Lhamo and Skalbe, as well as Defenders.
