
Grand Lisboa presents “Miniature Gastronomic Exhibition” for the Year of Double Celebration
Grand Lisboa, on its 12th birthday, specially presented the “Miniature Gastronomic Exhibition”, the first of its kind in Macau, to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China and the 20th anniversary of Macau’s return to China. This year also marked the 2nd anniversary of Macau being designated as a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy.
The Opening Ceremony was held on 7 November 2019 afternoon at the Grand Lisboa Hotel lobby, officiated by Ms. Mok Ian Ian, President of the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macau SAR Government, Ms. Daisy Ho, Chairman of the Board of Directors of SJM, Ms. Angela Leong, Managing Director and Chief Administrative Officer of SJM, Mr. Bernard Yip, Director of Business Affairs of SJM, Mr. Jonas A Schuermann, Managing Director of Hospitality Services of SJM and Macau artist Ms. Jacqueline Sio.
Ms. Daisy Ho said, “On Grand Lisboa’s 12th birthday, I am excited to introduce this exhibition for the year of double celebration, which will definitely stimulate your memories of the delicious East-meets-West culinary pleasures of Macau. Gastronomy is a distinctive part of Macau’s culture that contributes to the city’s success especially as Macau emerges as a world centre of tourism and leisure. This exhibition aims to arouse interest in the city’s rich culinary heritage in combination with miniature art and creativity. SJM and Grand Lisboa, Macau’s only dining destination that glitters with seven Michelin stars, are proud to play a role in elevating and enriching the culinary scene of Macau for the benefit of its development as a Creative City of Gastronomy.”
The “Miniature Gastronomic Exhibition” was held from 7 November to 27 December 2019 at the hotel lobby of Grand Lisboa Macau. The breath-taking and exquisite “food on the fingertips” – handmade miniature gastronomic exhibits – were created by the invited local artist. The exhibition showcased the traditional Chinese and Portuguese delicacies, unique Macanese cuisine and the signature dishes of the Michelin-starred restaurants at Grand Lisboa Hotel, presenting a visual culinary experience to the visitors.
