Title-sponsored by Sociedade de Jogos de Macau, S.A. (“SJM”), the SJM Macau Derby was held on 27 July 2019 afternoon at Macau Jockey Club. This year’s Derby Race marked the sixteenth year of title-sponsorship by SJM, making it a signature event in Macau’s sports calendar, while bringing more exciting and diversified elements to the city’s sports and leisure activities.

The SJM Macau Derby (Group 1 Race, 1,800 metres) attracted fourteen 4-year-old horses to compete for total prize money of HKD2.6 million. This year’s Derby champion was “Sacred Capital”. Director of SJM Mr. Arnaldo Ho, Secretary-General Dr. Rui Cunha, and Assistant Chief Operating Officer Mr. Paul Hung presented trophies to the owner, trainer and jockey of the winning horse after the race.
