Dedicated to promoting traditional Chinese culture, Sociedade de Jogos de Macau, S.A. (“SJM”) is a regular sponsor of dragon boat races in Macau. This year SJM has formed 9 teams comprising around 100 male and female employees to compete again in the Macao International Dragon Boat Races 2019, a festive event combining sports, tourism and culture where local and foreign elites mined for medals at the Nam Van Lake starting from 1 June.

The year-round training of the SJM teams paid off when “SJM Golden Jubilee”, advancing to the final with straight wins, successfully defended the title of the much anticipated Macau Standard Dragon Boat 500m Open Category Race. In addition, at the Macau International Invitation Standard Dragon Boat Race 500m Open Category Grand Final taken place on the day of Dragon Boat Festival, “SJM Golden Jubilee” was the second runner-up amongst many strong contenders from around the world. The brilliant success demonstrated the high morale and team spirit of SJM employees.
