Committed to advancing co-operation on environmental protection and green development in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area, Sociedade de Jogos de Macau, S.A. (“SJM”) participated in the 2019 Macao International Environmental Co-operation Forum & Exhibition (“MIECF”), aiming to share its experience and achievements in environmental protection, as well as to raise public awareness of the importance of protecting the environment.

This year’s MIECF was hosted by the Macau SAR Government and co-ordinated by the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute and the Environmental Protection Bureau from 28 to 30 March 2019. With “Promoting Ecological Civilization and Green Development” as its theme, the event plays a pivotal role in promoting regional green economic exchanges and co-operation through case sharing, policy analysis, technology display and business exchange, with the objectives of accelerating the shaping of the environment, industrial structures, modes of production, and ways of life that are conducive to resource conservation and environmental protection.

Titled as “Green SJM”, SJM’s booth resonated with the theme of this year’s MIECF by showcasing a series of effective measures that SJM has implemented across its casinos and hotels in order to promote sustainable development of the environment, including the connection to the intelligent building management system, the promotion of efficient use of energy and water, and the efforts to improve air quality. In addition, SJM’s booth also highlighted its contribution to the building of a Green Greater Bay Area and its active support for the Macau SMEs on environmental protection.
