The SJM Scholarship Programme received recognition from The Youth Committee of Macao Chamber of Commerce and Associação de Jovens Empresários Chineses de Macau at Caridade Social 2017-18. The scheme aims to promote corporate social responsibility for building a harmonious society. The appreciation ceremony was held at Ho Yin Memorial Auditorium of Macao Chamber of Commerce on 18 December 2018. Out of nearly 100 nominated projects/events, 26 were awarded, and SJM’s Scholarship Programme was among one of them. Vice President of Human Resources Jones Chao received the appreciation certificate on behalf of the Company.

For children of staff, the SJM Scholarship Programme awards 10 scholarships annually to students, who are each awarded MOP20,000 until they finish their studies (up to five years). In addition, two best performing students in the past academic year are selected and each presented with an additional award of MOP5,000. The Programme, since its establishment in 2005, has witnessed the graduation of 91 students, some of whom have furthered their masters studies. The Alumni Association of Scholarship for SJM Employees’ Children was established in 2012, aiming to promote SJM’s core value of “from society, to society”, and encourage active participation by alumni in social services for the benefit of the community.
