15 June 2023 - Committed to promoting traditional Chinese culture, SJM Resorts, S.A. (“SJM”) was a major sponsor of the “Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Chinese Opera Cultural Festival” for the third consecutive year. As a co-organiser of the event, SJM aims to enhance cultural exchanges, and further strengthen Macau’s role as a base for exchange and cooperation where Chinese culture is the mainstream and diverse cultures coexist.

“The Third Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Chinese Opera Cultural Festival”, held in Macau from 15 to 20 June 2023, was organised by China Theatre Association, Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Chinese Opera Association, and Hong Kong Ta Kung Wen Wei Media Group, under the guidance of China Federation of Literary and Art Circles. In addition to the opening night on 16 June, there were four special performances, including the Kunqu opera “Washing the Silk Gauze” and “The Story of the Jade Hairpin”, as well as the Peking opera “Birthday Congratulations” and the Qin opera “The Reincarnation of The Red Plum”.
