1 June 2023 - The “SJM Vocational Skills Competition”, organised by SJM Resorts S.A. (“SJM”), successfully concluded its various selection rounds in May. The closing and awards ceremony was held in the Grand Pavilion at Grand Lisboa Palace Resort on 1 June 2023, where winners received their medals and trophies. This year, over 130 staff competed in three major categories: Gaming & Entertainment, Chinese & Western Gastronomy, and Housekeeping & Facility Management. By hosting the event, SJM aimed to enhance the professional skills of its teams and promote communication and collaboration among its members. The winners will be nominated to represent SJM in local and open competitions, striving for outstanding achievements.

In her speech, Ms. Daisy Ho, Managing Director of SJM, commended the team members for their enthusiasm, initiative, creativity, and teamwork. She encouraged them to continually equip themselves to usher in a brighter future with strength and confidence. Ms. Ho emphasized that SJM has been deeply rooted in Macau for over sixty years and has consistently upheld the motto of "Employees first; Quality a priority." By standing united with all employees and pushing for new frontiers upon the foundation of its legacy, SJM aims to reinforce Macau’s positioning as a "World Tourism and Leisure Center". SJM seeks diversified innovation, explores new potentials for the company and the city, and emphasises patriotism and social responsibility, as it unites efforts to create the greatest synergy.

The event was attended by over 220 guests, including department heads, winners, and team members.
