30 August 2024 – Organised by the Department of Services for the Elderly of Caritas Macau, the “Caregivers Joyful Gathering” Community Education Seminar 2024 successfully concluded on 30 August at the staff club, with 30 members from SJM Resorts, S.A. (“SJM”) volunteer team attending the seminar.

The seminar invited professional nurses, physical therapists, and nutritionists as keynote speakers to lecture about four different topics, including physiological changes in the elderly, emotional issues and mental health of the elderly, skills needed to communicate with dementia sufferers, and dementia-related problem behaviors and care. Through this educational seminar, SJM aimed to strengthen volunteer team members’ understanding of the physical and mental changes experienced by the elderly and enhance their communication skills with this demographic. The goal was to support community services for the elderly in Macau, contribute to society through practical actions, promote a caring spirit, and build a harmonious society.
