16 November 2024 – SJM Resorts, S.A. (“SJM”) is committed to fostering Macau’s sports culture with the aim of infusing positive energy into the community. The 2024 CTA Tour SJM Professional Finals (Macau) and National Tennis Championships were successfully concluded on 2 and 6 November. The national sports event also commemorated the 75th Anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China and the 25th Anniversary of the establishment of the Macao SAR. SJM recently held “Mini Tennis Fun Day” and “SJM X UM 2024 Tennis Experience Camp” and received overwhelming responses.

The “Mini Tennis Fun Day” invited 24 children from the Salvation Army Joy Family Integrated Service Center, Macau Deaf Association, and Centro de Serviços Integrados de Apoio à Família - Fonte de Alegria e de Energia, Caritas Macau. Under the supervision of qualified coaches, the children experienced the joy of playing tennis through games. In order to address the children’s physical limitations, the coaches created a number of training techniques using kid-friendly tennis equipment and sparked their interest in tennis in a fun environment. SJM team members also distributed a mini toy, “Sam the Rooster,” dressed in tennis attire to the children upon completion of the activity, encouraging them to continue practicing and improving.

The “SJM X UM 2024 Tennis Experience Camp” was instructed by the tennis players from the University of Macau to teach basic techniques. Around 20 participants started from scratch and gradually mastered basic skills, such as tennis grip, swinging, and hitting under the guidance of instructors. SJM team members also interacted with the young players through Q&A sessions and distributing souvenirs, encouraging young people to keep practicing tennis and develop a positive mindset while facing challenges.

SJM is dedicated to encouraging the growth of regional sports. It sought to cultivate local sports talent, promote sports culture, and support the development of local sports talent by organizing and sponsoring a variety of sports events.
