19 November 2024 – In furthering the message of inclusivity and equality for individuals with physical challenges, SJM Resorts, S.A. (“SJM”) has become the title sponsor of the SJM MSO Tennis Open Day 2024 and two tennis training workshops hosted by the Macau Special Olympics (“MSO”). The events invited MSO members and local secondary school students to participate. SJM volunteers also played an active role, contributing to a lively atmosphere at all three events.

The SJM MSO Tennis Open Day 2024 successfully concluded early this month at the Artyzen Grand Lapa Macau. Ms. Angela Leong, Director of SJM and Chairwoman of the Staff Welfare Consultative Committee of SJM, attended the event and presented awards to the tournament winners. SJM sent seventeen volunteers to assist with the on-site experience, sharing the joy of tennis with over one hundred participants. This event aimed to provide individuals with special needs with the opportunity to engage with tennis and discover their potential. Prior to the open day, MSO organised two tennis training workshops on 19 October and 3 November at the University of Macau’s tennis courts, attracting over seventy participants. These workshops featured professional coaches who taught tennis skills and promoted the sport within the community.

Through a variety of sports activities, SJM aims to encourage people from all levels of the community to play tennis and develop their confidence and perseverance. SJM is committed to leveraging its resources to foster a welcoming atmosphere in the community, cultivate a harmonious society, and contribute to the development of Macau.
