SJM ignites youths’ passion for motorsport with “A Racing Legacy” event series
12 November 2024 – As the main sponsor of the Macau Grand Prix, SJM Resorts, S.A. (“SJM”) is engaging the community with a series of activities themed “A Racing Legacy,” immersing them in the vibrant atmosphere of the Grand Prix. On 12 November, SJM joined hands with SJM Theodore Racing to host “A Racing Legacy – Where Theodore Racing’s Performance Reached its Peak” fireside talk at the Macao Grand Prix Museum. The event featured a youth dialogue aimed at promoting Macau’s racing culture. Following this, the excitement continued at the “Sportopia” game area on Level 1 of the Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau, where the event “A Racing Legacy – Meet the Drivers” was held, allowing the students to take part in an interactive exchange with the racers and experienced the thrill of racing firsthand.
“A Racing Legacy – Where Theodore Racing’s Performance Reached its Peak” fireside talk was hosted by Mr. Teddy Yip Jr., son of “Mr. Grand Prix” Teddy Yip, and Theodore Racing Team President. Joining him were three racers participating in the “Macau Grand Prix – FIA FR World Cup,” Mr. Dino Beganovic, Mr. Freddie Slater, and Mr. Alex Dunne, as well as stalwarts Mr. Edoardo Mortara and Mr. Matteo Cairoli, competing in “Macau GT Cup – FIA GT World Cup.”
Through the engaging fireside talk with the five racers, close to 60 students gained a true appreciation for the hard work and dedication behind each victory. They also gained a deeper understanding of the career paths of professional racing drivers, the racing industry, and the importance of teamwork, and were encouraged to proactively shape their own future career.
Later that afternoon, the Theodore Racing Team joined the students at the “Sportopia” game area on Level 1 of the Grand Lisboa Palace, at the “A Racing Legacy – Meet the Drivers” event. The racers demonstrated their practice techniques through a virtual reality-enhanced version of the “Speed Racer” game. Students also had the opportunity to dive into the racing games, feeling the exhilarating rush of navigating through the winding track.
