SJM partners with Sheng Kung Hui Macau Social Services Coordination Office to launch “Youth Handicraft Instructor Training Program”
16 August 2024 – Following the successful launch of vocational training workshops for youths last year, SJM Resorts, S.A. (“SJM”) and the Sheng Kung Hui Macau Social Services Coordination Office have partnered again this year to jointly organise the “Youth Handicraft Instructor Training Program”. Youths who participated in last year’s vocational training workshops joined the handicraft program this year as instructors to teach families and the elderly how to create art with preserved flowers at Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau. SJM hopes that through this training program, youths can improve their teaching skills, gain good experience, instil confidence, and garner a sense of accomplishment as they work toward building a foundation for their future career development.
SJM invited 23 families from the General Union of Neighbourhood Associations of Macau and 20 elderly individuals from Tung Sin Tong Elderly Activity Center to participate in the workshops on 11 and 16 August at Grand Lisboa Palace, respectively. Under the careful guidance of young mentors, participants created unique glass balls, night lights and keychains decorated with preserved flowers. As they made their artistic creations, the participants laughed and thoroughly enjoyed their time together. SJM also awarded certificates of appreciation and souvenirs to five mentors from the Sheng Kung Hui Macau Social Services Coordination Office, encouraging them to continue working hard to achieve their goals.
Firmly rooted in Macau, SJM continues to actively support and organise a variety of community events and training programs, with a focus on developing Macau’s youth. The aim is to provide young individuals with learning opportunities, lead them to excel and develop their talents, guide them toward establishing a future development path, and encourage them to pursue their dreams. SJM will continue to collaborate with local organisations to host more diversified training programs designed to cultivate local talents and inject positive energy into society.
