29 July 2024 – SJM Resorts, S.A. (“SJM”) hosted a launch ceremony for the “Internship Program 2024” at the Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau on 29 July 2024, welcoming new local university graduates into this year’s three-month internship program. Official dignitaries from the Labour Affairs Bureau of Macao SAR Government – Director, Mr. Wong Chi Hong; Deputy Director, Mr. Chan Un Tong; and Head of the Employment Department, Ms. Lei Lai Keng – attended the launch ceremony.

During the opening ceremony, SJM team members outlined plans for the new internship program over the next three months and shared success stories about past internships. For five consecutive years since 2020, SJM has supported the “Internship Program” organised by the Labour Affairs Bureau of Macao SAR Government. More than 100 new internship positions are offered across 25 departments at SJM every year, encouraging local university graduates to learn and equip themselves with the knowledge needed to succeed in the hospitality industry. More than 50% of graduates who successfully completed the internship program in the past were hired to join the SJM family. Some team members who previously participated in the internship program attended the launch ceremony to share their personal experiences and insights with new interns, and encouraged them to seize opportunities, diversify their skill sets, and prepare for entering the workforce. Immediately following the launch ceremony, the new interns attended an orientation session to officially kick-off a series of on-the-job training programs with SJM.

SJM has actively strived to fulfil the Macao SAR Government’s policy of “Building Macau through Nurturing Talents” by launching diverse internship programs and on-the-job training experiences designed to cultivate local talents. SJM also gives priority to hiring outstanding local interns in support of providing employment for Macau residents.
