28 June 2024 – In order to actively respond to Macau government policies and measures to build a “Healthy City,” SJM Resorts, S.A. (“SJM”) has been collaborating with various sectors of society to promote a safe and healthy environment. SJM organised an “Occupational Safety and Health (“OSH”) Promotion Month” campaign themed “Breathe in a Healthy Way, Share a Fresh Workplace” in June. The campaign aimed to foster a healthy and safe workplace culture, attracting over 7,000 participants.

As a key event during SJM’s “Occupational Safety and Health Promotion Month,” a seminar on “Understanding and Preventing Tuberculosis” was held at Ponte 16 Resort and Jai Alai Oceanus. Representatives from the Tuberculosis Prevention and Treatment Centre of the Health Bureau of the Macao SAR Government were invited to participate. The seminar detailed the symptoms and preventive measures of pulmonary tuberculosis, which were well received by team members.

SJM also partnered with the Smoke-free & Healthy Life Association of Macau to organise roadshows at its properties, including Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau, Grand Lisboa Macau, Jai Alai Oceanus and Ponte 16. These roadshows featured interactive health exhibitions and provided health check-up services. Team members were offered tests for skin condition, blood pressure, as well as nicotine dependence and carbon monoxide level tests for smokers. These tests helped team members gain a better understanding of their overall health. Interactive quiz games and online knowledge competitions were also held to enhance employees’ awareness and understanding of respiratory health and the dangers of smoking.

SJM has always prioritised the health and safety of its employees, striving to enhance OSH awareness of its team members. By fostering a healthier, safer, and more positive work environment, SJM contributes to the development of a “Healthy City” in Macau.
