
SJM organises another tour to the Greater Bay Area Understanding national condition in Zhaoqing, upholding the spirit
14 June 2024 – Rooted in Macau and dedicated to serving the country, SJM Resorts, S.A. (“SJM”) strives to promote patriotic education and upholds the spirit of “Love the Motherland, Love Macau”. SJM has organised another academic tour to the Greater Bay Area, with nearly one hundred team members visited Zhaoqing City of Guangdong province on 27 and 28 March and 13 and 14 June, respectively. The tours invited the following officials as instructors, including Mr. Yan Zhenfei, Standing Committee member of the Foshan Sanshui District; Mr. Yin ZhenFei, Leader of the Sanshui support team in Dinghu District; and Mr. Li Weibin, Deputy Secretary of the Sha Pu Town Committee in Zhaoqing Dinghu District and Leader of the Sanshui support team stationed in Sha Pu Town. These instructors organised and conducted patriotic lessons themed “Rural Revitalisation” for SJM team members.
The academic tour to the Greater Bay Area aimed to strengthen team members’ understanding of the region, promote deeper integration with China’s national development plans, and cultivate the spirit of “Love the Motherland, Love Macau” through educational and entertaining activities. The academic tour included a visit to the former Peasants’ Association in Sha Er Village, a patriotism education base, to understand the red culture of Shapu and the progress of rural revitalisation efforts. The team also visited the Dinghu Red Culture Lecture Hall of the New Era, where seasoned members of the Chinese Communist Party shared insights on Chinese history and the revolution, enhancing national pride and nurturing a patriotic spirit among the participants. Additionally, the team members toured the Tianhu Egret Ecological Resort to learn about the environmental conservation efforts in Shapu Town. They also visited the Guangdong Pute Agricultural Development Company to gain insights into the most recent integrated trends in agricultural production, processing, and services, as well as the status of development of agricultural cultural tourism.
Team members who took part in the academic tour remarked that they have gained useful insights through these themed academic tours, site visits and immersive experiences. They have broadened their understanding of the history of the Motherland and the most recent developments in Greater Bay Area. They saw how crucial rural revitalization was to the growth of the economy and people’s standard of living. The tour has also reinforced their “Love the Motherland, Love Macau” sentiment.
