SJM supports Macau’s Education and Youth Development Bureau in cultivating talents for diversified development
21 April 2024 – SJM Resorts, S.A. (“SJM”) signed the “School and Corporation Collaboration” with the Education and Youth Development Bureau (“DSEDJ”) of the Macao SAR Government to jointly cultivate local talents in applied technology and promote the diverse development of Macau’s youth. Over the past two years, SJM has offered academic resources for vocational and technical training courses, professional guidance and development opportunities, and has hosted a range of vocational training sessions to showcase the current state of vocational and technical education, as well as course features.
DSEDJ held the “Fostering Skills and Diversified Development” Professional and Technical Education Promotion Day on 21 April 2024 at the Professional and Technical Education Activity Center in Shek Pai Wan, Coloane. As a supporting unit, SJM organised a mixology workshop by sending representatives to demonstrate techniques to students. By preparing the beverages, participants deepened their understanding of the industry. Mr. Wong Ka Ki, Deputy Director of the DSEDJ, and industry representatives attended the workshop to encourage students to take advantage of this invaluable chance to pick up practical skills from industry professionals.
The three phases of conceptual, demonstration, and experience allowed SJM’s skilled bartenders to teach the students the fundamentals of mixology, the classification of cocktails, and demonstrated mixing techniques. During the event, bartenders guided the students towards making a non-alcoholic cocktail called “Happy Paradise”, using the Panda Pavilion in Macau as inspiration. The workshop was enjoyable and useful. Students listened attentively and took photos of their creations at the end.
SJM will continue to support the policies of “developing Macau through education” and “cultivating talents for the development of Macau” of the Macao SAR Government, and will collaborate with DSEDJ and academic institutions to promote training that integrates industry and academic knowledge, thereby cultivating local talents in applied technology.
