SJM invites MSO and Fuhong Society of Macau to experience diversified entertainment facilities at Grand Lisboa Palace
11 April 2024 – SJM Resorts, S.A. (“SJM”) is committed to the building of a harmonious and inclusive society, providing opportunities for people from all walks of life to take part in and experience the diverse elements of Macau culture and leisure. SJM held three experiential events on 23 March, 7 and 11 April respectively, inviting the members and families from the Macau Special Olympics (“MSO”) and Fuhong Society of Macau to the “Donald Duck 90 - The Fabulous Gallery” and Martial Arts Arena themed experience zone at the Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau (“Grand Lisboa Palace”), offering them a unique experience that combined elements of “Arts & Culture,” “Sports” and “Technology,” as well as an enjoyable and joyful time.
The events held on 23 March and 7 April welcomed a total of 40 members from the MSO and their families. Guided by the SJM team, they first visited the exhibit and exclusive memorabilia area of the “Donald Duck 90 - The Fabulous Gallery,” exploring the charm of this international iconic character, and experiencing the joy it has brought to the world over the past 90 years. The group then proceeded to meet and posed for photos with Donald Duck and Daisy Duck, dressed in classic sailor outfits aboard a captivating 3D ship at Jardim Secreto. Afterwards, the participants ventured to the Martial Arts Arena themed experience zone, the newly unveiled leisure and entertainment project at Grand Lisboa Palace, to learn about the essence of Chinese martial arts from a new perspective.
At the event on 11 April, 20 members from the Fuhong Society of Macau also toured through the Martial Arts Arena themed experience zone, where they immersed in virtual martial arts through VR games and state-of-art technology, that promote sports and traditional Chinese martial arts. The videos played in the “Introduction to Macau Martial Arts” Exhibition offered them a glimpse into the prowess of Macau’s martial artists, enriching their understanding of local martial arts and its notable achievements.
All three events were well received by the participants. Parents of the members who attended the event expressed that they and their children had shared a warm and enjoyable afternoon, and had gained a deeper understanding of Chinese martial arts. The participants were particularly delighted with the VR games and thoroughly enjoyed the virtual martial arts experience.
A harmonious and caring culture is the foundation for the stable and prosperous development of the Macau society. SJM pledges to continue our collaboration with local organisations, enriching the community through the support and organisation of various community outreach initiatives to promote art and culture as well as positive values among the younger generation, foster harmonious families, and contribute to societal well-being of Macau.
