SJM concludes “Traffic Safety Awareness Month”
31 March 2024 – SJM Resorts, S.A. (“SJM”) concluded “Traffic Safety Awareness Month” in March where messages of road traffic safety were conveyed to some 4,000 employees through different events and activities.
As part of the initiative, engaging promotional booths were set up in employee dining rooms at Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau (“Grand Lisboa Palace”), Grand Lisboa Macau (“Grand Lisboa”) and Jai Alai Hotel to promote staff awareness over safety on the road and public transportation, and reward their learning efforts through online quizzes. Fun “Safety Tips” were posted in prominent back-of-house areas to drive home the message.
Also SJM invited the representatives from the Transport Bureau of the Macau SAR Government (“DSAT”) and the Traffic Department of Public Security Police Force (“PSP”) to deliver two “Traffic Safety Seminar” sessions at Grand Lisboa Palace and Grand Lisboa respectively, with nearly 200 SJM employees in attendance. The latest practical knowledge on traffic safety such as safety protocols on public transportation and safe driving principles were discussed, along with traffic accident case studies. The insightful sessions wrapped up with active Q&A sessions with the speakers, who took questions from attending employees.
SJM has always prioritised the health and safety of its employees and is also a longstanding signatory to the Occupational Safety and Health Charter spearheaded by the Labour Affairs Bureau (“DSAL”). SJM actively organises activities to raise awareness of employee safety and health, such as creating custom-designed Occupational Safety and Health (“OSH”) leaflet holders, hosting the first-ever Occupational Health Cooking Competition in Macau and others. Moreover, SJM is the first integrated tourism and leisure enterprise in Macau to collaborate with the government in jointly producing OSH videos, organising OSH tracking games, and coordinating themed activities for “Traffic Safety Awareness Month.” These initiatives aim to promote occupational safety messages to employees from multiple perspectives.
