9 March 2024 – Embracing the philosophy of “From society, to society, ” SJM Resorts, S.A. (“SJM”) is dedicated to assisting the local youth to better unleash their potential and soar into the future. On 9 March, SJM invited youth members of the Sheng Kung Hui Macau Social Services Coordination Office to participate in a series of workplace experience activities at the Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau (“Grand Lisboa Palace”). In addition to vocational skills workshops and interactive exchanges, the youths were specially arranged to tour the hotel rooms and front lobby areas. Through on-site visits and exchanges, SJM aims to encourage them to prepare for their future career development.

Led by the Front Office staff of SJM, the participants toured the hotel rooms, reception, and concierge at the Grand Lisboa Palace Macau, gaining in-depth knowledge of the daily operations and required skills in the customer service sector. Subsequently, SJM arranged vocational skills workshops for the youths, sharing tips on interview techniques and insights on resume writing, helping them understand the recruitment standards of large integrated resorts. Through Q&A sessions and mock interviews, the youths were helped to familiarise themselves with interview techniques, further deepening their understanding of corporate operations and workplace culture. This experience, combining on-site visits and the work experience sharing by the SJM team members, not only allowed the youths to further understand the service standards and work processes of large integrated resorts but also encouraged and inspired them to engage in self-exploration, understanding their career needs and directions.

SJM is committed to nurturing local talent in Macau and has been promoting the holistic development of youths through a variety of programs including skills training, workplace experiences, and scholarship plans for many years. SJM will continue to implement diverse initiatives to carry out the Macao SAR Government’s development strategy of “Building Macau through Talent Training, ” providing more learning and development opportunities for youths and different strata of the local community, jointly cultivating talent for the development and prosperity of Macau.
