SJM’s workshop celebrates lantern festival with FAOM families
2 March 2024 – SJM Resorts, S.A. (“SJM”) hosted a Lantern Festival Workshop on 2 March 2024, inviting 18 parents and children from the Fai Chi Kei Family and Community Integrated Service Centre of Macau Federation of Trade Unions (“FAOM”) to the Grand Lisboa Macau (“Grand Lisboa”) to celebrate the 15th day of the Lunar New Year, also known as the Lantern Festival, and learn about the culture and customs associated with it, crafting joyful parent-child moments.
SJM team members warmly welcomed families at the Grand Lisboa and led them to the workshop. At the event, the Executive Chef of the MICHELIN-Starred restaurant “The 8” from Grand Lisboa led a team to demonstrate making sweet glutinous rice balls for the participants. The families prepared and savoured the sweet glutinous rice balls in ginger tea prepared by the chef under a warm and festive ambiance. Following such, SJM staff hosted lantern riddle contests and other entertaining activities, giving away SJM’s mascot “Sam the Rooster” plush toys, and souvenirs from the currently showcased exhibition at Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau, titled “Donald Duck 90- The Fabulous Gallery.” Both parents and children engaged enthusiastically in the activities, creating cherished holiday memories.
SJM has consistently championed and orchestrated a range of community care initiatives, notably themed events around festive periods, to nurture the tradition of joyful family reunions, express its commitment to the Macau community, foster harmony among families, and enhance social stability.
