SJM provides professional culinary training to MSO social enterprise
28 February 2024 – Under the spirit of “From the Society, For the Society,” SJM Resorts, S.A. (“SJM”) continues to organise diverse activities to actively contribute to the community. On 28 February 2024, SJM arranged for a chef from the Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau (“Grand Lisboa Palace”) to provide professional culinary training and teach a new recipe to the staff of the social enterprise affiliated with the Macau Special Olympics (“MSO”) - “Dream of Sexagenarian 60.” This initiative encourages caregivers of individuals with special needs, including parents of MSO members, to leverage their talents and better integrate into the local community.
The chef from Grand Lisboa Palace introduced a new culinary delight, “Hakka-style Braised Pork Knuckle,” to the enthusiastic staff of “Dream of Sexagenarian 60.” The event was abuzz with excitement as the chef divulged their culinary secrets for creating this sumptuous dish. The participants were keen to engage, taking turns to cook and taste their own creations, with an eye on adding this new recipe to the restaurant’s menu. Furthermore, the Grand Lisboa Palace chef offered valuable insights on kitchen operations and inventory management to enhance the efficiency of the restaurant’s daily operations. Through this initiative, SJM seeks to equip the caregivers of individuals with special needs with professional knowledge and hands-on skills, thereby enhancing their job performance and efficiency, enabling them to serve customers more confidently and professionally.
Rooted in Macau, SJM is committed to supporting and organising various types of community outreach activities, sending messages of love and care to different social sectors, and helping to build a harmonious society in Macau. SJM will continue to work closely with local associations, promoting a spirit of love and inclusivity.
