
SJM welcomes the new year by distributing fai chun and blessings to households
1 February 2024 – Jointly organised by the Cultural-Recreational and Social Services Department of SJM Resorts, S.A. (“SJM”) Staff Welfare Consultative Committee (“SWCC”), and the Macao Association of Chinese Culture and Art Development, the “SJM welcomes the new year by distributing fai chun and seasonal blessings to households” activity was held on 1 February at Kam Pek Community Centre.
Same as last year, the event invited calligraphers including Kuan Kun Cheong, Ho Loi Seng, Ieong Keang Sang, Ho Lai Sim and Ma Teng to perform live calligraphy and write fai chun on the spot. Phrases like “get promoted and receive a salary increase”, “excel in your study”, “good health” and “ushering in wealth and prosperity” were very popular. They wrote over 800 fai chun during the 2-hour event, inviting employees to take home their favourite blessings . The event also featured a lucky draw, offering gifts themed “The Lucky Dragon Bestows Fortune”, further heightening the festive atmosphere.
Ms. Angela Leong, Director and Chairman of the SWCC of SJM, attended the event and extended her wishes toMacau citizens for the Year of the Dragon. She wished the employees good fortune, good health, and prosperity for all industries in Macau.
Through this event, SJM aimed to promote the traditional Chinese Lunar New Year traditions to its employees and send new year blessings to them and their families by distributing fai chun. It symbolised the sharing of blessings and adding joy to the Year of the Dragon.
