12 December 2023 - Following the successful conclusion of the 2023 CTA Tour SJM Professional Finals (Macau) and National Tennis Championships last Sunday, the 15^th Shanghai-Hong Kong-Macau-Taipei Tennis Group Invitation Tournament for the Elderly - SJM Cup will be held in Macau on 13 and 14 December at Macau Tennis Civil Club. Senior tennis euthusiasts from Shanghai, Hong Kong, Macau and Taipei will come together to participate in this annual tennis invitation tournament. The tournament rotates among Shanghai, Hong Kong, Macau and Taipei as host cities annually.

Title-sponsored by SJM Resorts, S.A. (“SJM”) and organised by Macau Tennis Civil, the tournament aims to promote tennis sports, enhance exchange and friendship, and contribute to the physical and mental well-being of the elderly. Additionally, the tournament seeks to promote the integrated development of “sports+tourism”. The event will arrange participants and their entourage to visit SJM’s Grand Lisboa Palace Resort and other scenic attractions in Macau. Participants will have the opportunity to enjoy local delicacies and immerse themselves in the cultural fusion of East and West.

The tournament will include men’s doubles (aged above 65, 60, 55 and 50), and women’s double (aged above 50). A total of 56 participants from Shanghai, Hong Kong, Macau and Taipei will take part, with the eldest over 80 years old and the youngest, 50. Among them are tennis players with decades of experience.

The tournament returns to Macau after the 3-year pandemic, and will take place on 13-14 December from 9am to 6pm at Macau Tennis Civil Club for two consecutive days. The tournament will be open to public. All are welcome.
