6 November 2023 - SJM Resorts, S.A. (“SJM”) consistently supports the “Career Experience” internship programme organised by the Macau Labour Affairs Bureau (“DSAL”). This year, SJM offered over 20 internships in diverse roles, aiming to provide graduates from Macau’s higher education institutions the opportunity to apply what they had learned through on-the-job training. Such experience would allow the graduates to accumulate valuable experiences and expand their social network.

The SJM Career Experience 2023 graduation ceremony was held on 6 November at Grand Lisboa Palace, to recognise the hard work and efforts of the interns. Deputy Director of DSAL Mr. Chan Un Tung, Chief of Employment Division Ms. Lee Lai King, Vice Principal of Macao Sam Yuk Middle School Mr. Kong Cheong Seng, as well as SJM management attended to show support. In addition to the interns recommended under DSAL’s “Career Experience 2023” programme, there were students from Macao Polytechnic University and Macao Sam Yuk Middle School. The event started with a video showcasing the interns’ fruitful work, followed by a sharing by last year’s graduate on successfully securing an employment. Director of SJM and Chairman of SWCC Ms. Angela Leong, during her speech, emphasised that the knowledge and experience gained during the internship could aid future success, and encouraged the graduates to maintain a proactive and innovative approach in pursuing their dreams and contributing to society in the future.

Ms. Daisy Ho, Managing Director of SJM, sent a congratulatory note to the graduates. She said, a total of 100 students had completed their internships at SJM since the launch of the programme four years ago, testifying the attractiveness and value of the programme, while showcasing its success in nurturing talents. SJM remains committed to supporting the policy of “cultivating talents for the development of Macau” and strives to foster more talents in the leisure and tourism industry for Macau and the entire Greater Bay Area.
