SJM joins hands with DSAL to actively promote OSH culture
24 November 2023 - SJM Resorts, S.A. (“SJM”) attaches great importance to the safety and health of its team members and has proactively supported the Macau SAR Government’s Occupational Safety and Health (“OSH”) policy for many years, with a commitment to creating a safe, comfortable, and healthy work environment for all employees. Recently, SJM has partnered with the Macau Labour Affairs Bureau (“DSAL”) to produce a series of OSH promotional short videos, making it the first integrated tourism and leisure enterprise in Macau to collaborate with DSAL in jointly producing OSH videos and promoting a culture of OSH across Macau.
The eight promotional videos cover various departments, including F&B, Housekeeping, and Facilities Management. To better align with actual work situations, the videos features SJM team members and were filmed in SJM’s properties with guidance from the representatives from DSAL to provide valuable insights into OSH. Through lively scenarios and professional OSH advice, these videos aim to enhance employees’ knowledge of OSH in an engaging and enjoyable manner. In addition to being shown for the first time at the OSH event of DSAL in September, this series of videos has been released in the back-of-house areas of SJM’s properties, highlighting the shared commitment among employers, employees, and the government in fostering a culture of occupational safety and health.
SJM places the safety and well-being of its team members as the first priority and actively implements a range of OSH activities and initiatives at its properties. These include organising Macau’s first cooking competition focused on occupational health, online competitions on OSH knowledge, physical fitness testing game booths, informative health and safety seminars, as well as posting OSH tips for team members regularly, providing work safety reminders, and broadcasting promotional video clips on OSH. SJM has actively supported the “Hotel and Catering Occupational Safety Card” course organised by the DSAL. Since 2018 until now, over 90% of team members have successfully passed the assessment and obtained the card. Moving forward, SJM remains committed to optimising health and safety strategies, enhancing team members’ awareness of OSH, and striving towards the ultimate goal of creating a work environment with zero accidents.
