11 November 2023 - SJM Resorts, S.A. (“SJM”) is deeply committed to societal well-being and has a longstanding dedication to promoting inclusivity for all individuals. With the objective of empowering individuals with autism to showcase their unique talents, SJM orchestrated a guided tour of the “Miffy Creative Exhibition - Travel in Style” and the “Fluid Miffy Art Workshop” at the Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau (“Grand Lisboa Palace”) on 11 November. This initiative welcomed 10 groups of children with autism from the Macau Autism Association, accompanied by their parents, in a collective effort to encourage these children to unearth their self-worth and artistic potential through creative expression.

The “Miffy Creative Exhibition - Travel in Style” featured Miffy models crafted by artists from across the globe, including Macau’s autistic artist, Mr. Leong Ieng Wai (also known as “0.38”), who collaborated with artists possessing various disabilities to create “Miffy’s Macau Adventure with 0.38,” which beautifully showcased the distinctive allure of Macau’s UNESCO heritage sites and Portuguese-style tiles, and bear testament to their diverse talents. Accompanied by SJM team members, participants delved into the exhibition, immersing themselves in a plethora of artistic styles and kindling their creative spirits.

Following the tour, instructors guided participants to unleash their boundless creativity through designing their own Miffy models using vibrant pigments. This fluid artistic process not only brought them the joy of artistic expression but also provided a means to express their inner thoughts. It enhanced the bond between parents and children, boosted the confidence of children with autism, and ignited their artistic potential. In addition, SJM extended an invitation to members of the Macau Autism Association to participate in the “Create Your Own Miffy Design Contest,” encouraging them to showcase their unique talents and champion the cause of inclusivity.

Rooted in Macau, SJM actively supports and organises various community care activities, spreading positive energy. In the future, SJM will continue to collaborate closely with local organisations, regularly hosting diverse activities to help build a society characterised by love, harmony, and inclusiveness.
