9 November 2023 - SJM Resorts, S.A. (“SJM”) is a staunch supporter of the “70^th Macau Grand Prix,” taking on the role as major sponsor and proudly supporting the SJM Theodore PREMA Racing Team in the Formula 3 and Formula 4 races. In a bid to excite passion among locals and tourists for Macau’s renowned racing spectacle, SJM is spearheading a host of ancillary programmes at the Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau (“Grand Lisboa Palace”) for the community.

SJM invited members from the Macau Special Olympics (“MSO”) and students from Fong Chong School of Taipa on 9 November to join in the activities at the “Sportopia,” situated on the first floor of the Grand Lisboa Palace. By engaging in immersive simulation games and interacting with SJM Theodore PREMA Racing’s Team Principal Teddy Yip Jr. and star racers Charles Long, Freddie Slater and Arvid Lindblad, they were able to delve into the thrilling world of racing. The racers also signed autographs and posed for photos, much to the excitement of the young fans. This event is part of SJM’s commitment to fostering community spirit through sports and advocating for a culture of inclusiveness and harmony.

The “Sportopia” merges physical activity with virtual reality, offering an innovative sports experience for visitors. In addition to the virtual velocity of cycling on the “Speed Bike” and the intense rallies of tennis at the “Tennis Battle,” there is also the “Speed Racer,” which is complete with a three-sided wrap-around screen and a motion-sensitive race car seating designed to emulate the electrifying sensations of high-speed motorsports.

In line with the company ethos “From the society, For the society,” SJM actively supports and hosts diverse sporting events while also championing the enjoyment of sports in the community, encouraging the youth to embrace and learn from the valor and perseverance exemplified by athletes.
