26 September 2023 - With an unwavering commitment to caring for the vulnerable communities in the society, SJM Resorts, S.A. (“SJM”) has gathered a team of over 50 volunteers to kick start a “SJM Spreading Warmth Mid-Autumn Outreach Programme” between 11 and 26 September, visiting a total of 917 households and benefitting more than 2,500 individuals. The beneficiaries included families affiliated with Macau Special Olympics, Macau Association of the Hearing Impaired, Macau Down Syndrome Association, Against Child Abuse (Macau) Association, single-parent and low-income households, and elderlies residing alone. Additionally, a Mid-Autumn Festival celebration event was hosted for the elderly from Tung Sin Tong senior center, honouring and promoting the traditional Chinese values of respect and care for the seniors.

In the lead-up to the Mid-Autumn Festival, the SJM volunteer team paid home visits to underprivileged families. They engaged in meaningful conversations, offered blessings, learnt about their needs, and provided service referrals. The team also handed out thoughtfully curated gifts, sharing the joy and warmth of the festival. Accompanied by SJM team members, 30 elderly members from Tung Sin Tong senior center were lead to a guided tour of the Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau (“Grand Lisboa Palace”). They explored the luxuriously appointed hotel rooms across the resort’s three hotel towers, admired its captivating vistas, and enjoyed an afternoon tea with savoury mooncakes at Eight Treasures. At the end of the tour, the elderly received nourishing soup packs as tokens of SJM’s well wishes.

With a legacy spanning over half a century in Macau, SJM continues to steadfastly support diverse community outreach programmes and encourage employee participation to positively impact Macau’s society. SJM remains committed to fostering strong relationships with local organisations and charities, regularly sponsoring and supporting a wide array of community welfare events, thus addressing the diverse needs of the community and fostering social harmony.
