9 September 2023 - SJM Resorts, S.A. (“SJM”) proudly sponsors the “2023 STEAM x Picture Books x Story-telling” event in partnership with the Macao Science Center and the Faculty of Education at the University of Macau, reinforcing its commitment to nurturing local scientific talent. To kick off the new school year, SJM invited service users of The Salvation Army Joy Family Integrated Service Center to a storytelling workshop on 9 September 2023. In a relaxed, interactive setting, children enjoyed science and tech-themed picture book stories, kindling their interest in science, enhancing their knowledge, and strengthening parent-child bonds.

The event took place at the Macao Science Center and attracted 36 participants from families of SJM and The Salvation Army Joy Family Integrated Service Center. The young learners were treated to a selection of popular science-themed picture books, while students from the Faculty of Education at the University of Macau, who are part of the Macao Science Center service team, brought these stories to life with vibrant and captivating storytelling. They shared a wealth of scientific knowledge with these budding learners, instilling in them a curiosity for exploration and continuous learning. In addition, families also enjoyed quality parent-child reading time in the Science Picture Book Library sponsored by SJM.

The “2023 STEAM x Picture Books x Story-telling” event will be held at the Macao Science Center every second Saturday afternoon from February to December of 2023, and admission is free of charge. This event is designed for children ranging from K3 to primary three students. Parents are warmly encouraged to participate alongside their children.
