1 September 2023 - SJM Resorts, S.A. (“SJM”) is the first in Macau to launch a sustainable spirits series with products from ecoSPIRITS, the world’s first company to introduce a low-carbon, low-waste distribution system for spirits, in compliance with SJM Sustainability policy. Mesa by José Avillez and Don Alfonso 1890 will lead the way at Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau (“Grand Lisboa Palace”) to take guests on a journey through the eco-friendly side of fine drinks with Guest Shifts and Negroni Week in September 2023.

The series of events kick off at Mesa by José Avillez on 8 and 9 September 2023. Resort Master Mixologist Frederick Ma from Grand Lisboa Palace will work with William Wu, Co-founder and Bar Manager of The Public House (ranked on Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2023), to host a Four-hand Guest Shift featuring ecoSPIRITS cocktails. On 21 and 22 September 2023, Lorenzo Coppola, Creative Director for Aqua Restaurant Group Bars will host a Guest Shift at Mesa by José Avillez, where he will present a selection of his very own, sustainable creative drinks for guests to savour. To mark the launch of these new sustainable drinks, Mesa by José Avillez is introducing a new menu, and with each themed-cocktail order, guests will receive one seed card – an invitation to join SJM in its efforts to protect the environment.

Don Alfonso 1890, which pioneered the sustainability movement decades ago in Italy, is now pleased to join Mesa by José Avillez in presenting the sustainable initiative in Grand Lisboa Palace with “Negroni Week”, in support of Slow Food’s mission to foster a more equitable and sustainable world of food and beverage from 18 to 24 September 2023.
