
SJM cultivates youth development with enriching summer programme
30 August 2023 - Committed to nurturing the growth and development of its workforce’s children, SJM Resorts, S.A. (“SJM”) creates opportunities for the younger generation to flourish through a diverse array of activities, with the objectives of broadening their horizons and cultivating their potential. To encourage productive use of summer breaks, SJM hosts the annual “Employees’ Children Summer Programme.” This programme, offered entirely free of charge, invites kindergarten and primary school students to explore interests beyond traditional academics and acquire new skills during their vacation. Programme in 2023 introduces an expanded range of interest classes covering an expanded scope, comprising 37 courses which positively impacted the development of 647 children of SJM’s employees.
Running from 17 July to 31 August 2023, the “Employees’ Children Summer Programme” covers a broad range of categories such as sports and athletics, creative arts, language and culture, and culinary arts. Activities offered include karate, table tennis, darts, children's street dance, dessert-making, watercolor painting, sketching, ink painting, sand painting, acrylic painting, fluid art, LEGO art, 3D book-making, paper toy creation, silk screen printing, kaleidoscope production, magic, science experiments, Chinese chess, English enrichment classes, math workshops, and pony experiences. The programme has generously expanded its scope to service friends and families of SJM employees in order that a larger number of young generation can benefit from the learning opportunities, fostering a more inclusive environment for learning, friendship, and enjoyment during the vacation.
SJM remains dedicated to nurturing the growth of Macau’s young talents and aligning with the government’s vision to foster youth development. Since its launch in 2017, the “Employees’ Children Summer Programme” has garnered enthusiastic participation from employees and their children, underscoring its popularity and value. In addition to the summer programme, SJM regularly organises parenting education and training courses, parent-child sports competitions, festive celebrations, and offers scholarships to outstanding employees’ children. These efforts contribute to the cultivation of harmonious families and the advancement of social cohesion and stability.
