28 August 2023 - Recognising the pivotal role in nurturing Macau's young minds, SJM Resorts, S.A. (“SJM”) has embarked on a series of dynamic initiatives to bolster the growth and development of local children. In the heart of summer break, on 28 August 2023, SJM organised an art experiential class at the GLP Art Workshops of Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau (“Grand Lisboa Palace”). The workshop, held exclusively for children from the Cradle of Hope Association, was followed by a thoughtful gesture of gifting books to the participants. The objective is simple yet profound: through these creative avenues, SJM seeks to unleash the boundless creativity and imagination in children while simultaneously nurturing their focus, reading prowess, and overall well-being.

During this event, skilled instructors and enthusiastic young minds teamed up to create terrariums, immersing participants into a world where art and nature intertwine. The interactive workshop allowed children to put different plants together and create miniature ecosystems, honing their dexterity, patience, concentration, and sense of aesthetics.

Subsequently, SJM presented a collection of children’s books to the young participants. Earlier, in the month of April, SJM had called upon its team members to donate pre-loved books, with the aim of breathing new life into them. These books were carefully curated and gifted to the participants during the event, alongside other newly purchased scientific literature. This gesture conveyed a message of care while also encouraging the younger generation to cultivate positive reading habits and promote a culture of reading within the local community.

SJM, deeply rooted in Macau for over six decades, is a firm advocate for corporate social responsibility.
