24 August, 2023 – SJM Resorts, S.A. (“SJM”) proactively promotes patriotic education by organising around 90 staff and their children to Foshan city in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area (“GBA”) during the summer holidays. The visits aimed to deepen the participants’ understanding of Chinese history and culture, and pass on the patriotic spirit to the young generation.

SJM organised two tours to Foshan City on 27 July and 24 August 2023, respectively. Mr. Su Yu, Party Secretary of the Sanshui Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, was invited to give a lecture on the 100 years of Chinese Communist Party for the employees and their children.

The academic tour included a visit to the China (Sanshui) International Food and Beverage Base created by Jianlibao, the father of China's national sports drinks, to enhance the participants’ knowledge of the development of national enterprises, and broaden their horizons regarding the growth of the big health beverage market on the Mainland. Additionally, the tour included a visit to the Baini Food Museum, a national education base for food safety and the only food museum in Guangdong Province. By exploring the history of food development in China, the participants witnessed the remarkable journey of poverty alleviation under the leadership of the Chinese Communist Party. The group also visited Baini in Sanshui, one of the “50 characteristic towns in China”.

The tours aim to deepen employees’ knowledge of the GBA cities and encourages them to actively contribute to the national development plan. SJM will continue organising more learning tours to other GBA cities, with the goals to enhance the sense of responsibility amongst the staff members towards the nation, Macau and the company, passing on the patriotic spirit and promoting cultural exchange.
