20 August 2023 - SJM Resorts, S.A. (“SJM”) is proud to be a part of the 2023 Macao International Environmental Co-operation Forum & Exhibition (MIECF) which concluded on 20 August 2023. This 4-day event, held between 17-20 August, provides the perfect backdrop for SJM to showcase its ongoing commitment to innovative practices towards resource conservation and carbon neutrality that permeate all aspects of its operations, and to learn and share insights with leading experts from both the public and private sectors in the Pan Pearl River Delta Region and Portuguese-speaking countries.

Located in the Premium Exhibitor Zone, SJM's booth earned the “Green Booth” award for its recyclable design. It features the Jardim Secreto and presents a wealth of environmental information through displays, multimedia and product exhibits. The centrepiece is a collection of seasonal gift packaging that combine green concepts with practicality. Created by local artists to promote green lifestyles, these designs emphasise creativity, functionality and reusability, such as cutlery items made with recycled tea leaves that are completely biodegradable.

Panel displays at the exhibition highlights SJM’s environmental endeavors. Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau adopts green building principles for energy and water efficiency, efficient waste management, and features restaurants with eco-friendly dining options. Hospitality services cater to eco-conscious travelers, and the expansion of electric and green energy vehicles reduces its carbon footprint. SJM emphasises the reduction of plastic usage by its retailers, and environmental training is provided for staff to raise their awareness.

SJM is shaping a future where prosperity is achieved hand-in-hand with environmental stewardship. The company enthusiastically engaged in business-matching sessions led by the organiser, learning and sourcing from global and local eco-friendly suppliers which are aligned with the company’s established green procurement policy. Furthermore, SJM solidified its commitment by partnering with Zung Fu, entering an MOU to expand its electric vehicles fleet, marking a step forward in expanding the usage of eco-friendly vehicles and contributing to a cleaner environment.
