9 August 2023 - SJM Resorts, S.A. (“SJM”) is actively fulfilling its corporate responsibility, supporting vulnerable individuals, and encouraging a society of inclusivity. SJM invited members of the Macau Special Olympics to visit Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau (“Grand Lisboa Palace”) for a series of workplace experience activities on 9 August 2023, aimed at nurturing their vocational interests and enhancing their employment prospects.

During the event, SJM staff conducted vocational workshops to acquaint participants with a workplace environment and provide them with an opportunity to experience the professional setting of a large-scale integrated resort. The participants toured the back-of-house loading area, gaining insights into the operational processes of these professionals. They were also introduced to protocols for handling unexpected events, and the exacting Forbes five-star service standards, among other knowledge. Participants went on to tour the art collections at Grand Lisboa Palace as well as the world’s one and only THE KARL LAGERFELD MACAU hotel tower, allowing them to bask in the artistic and leisurely offerings of the resort. The event combined experiential sharing and situational learning to enhance vocational knowledge and skills of participants, and to help them better integrate into the society.

SJM is committed to addressing diverse societal needs through active support and community engagement. Apart from workplace experience events, SJM consistently organises charitable activities, and will further host community engagement programs to promote vocational growth for marginalised individuals, aligning with Macau SAR Government’s goal of an inclusive society.
