22 May 2023 - SJM Resorts, S.A. (“SJM”), in collaboration with the Sports Bureau of Macao SAR Government and the Dragon Boat Association of Macao, China, is hosting the “2023 SJM Macao International Dragon Boat Races” and will field eight dragon boat teams to fully support this annual sports event. The launch ceremony for the SJM Dragon Boat Team took place on 22 May 2023 at the Nam Van Lake Nautical Centre. SJM’s directors and senior management attended the event to seek blessings for an auspicious day and give their support and encouragement to the participating members.

Ms. Daisy Ho, Managing Director of SJM, expressed, “SJM has a deep connection with dragon boat races in Macau. We are honoured to participate in organising this annual competition and bring this prominent Macau branded event to new heights with our fellow organisers. We are committed to promoting excellence in Chinese sports culture, and fully leveraging the synergies of ‘Sports + Tourism’ to attract more visitors to Macau. This is of particular importance as we can finally resume the international dragon boat invitational race this year.” She continued, “We are very proud that the SJM Dragon Boat Teams have always demonstrated great teamwork and perseverance, which are characteristics of the Chinese nation. We hope that all teams will strive harder this year and set new records.”

SJM will field a total of eight dragon boat teams in this year's event, including five teams in the men's category: SJM Golden Jubilee (Large), SJM Prosperity (Large), SJM Golden Jubilee A (Small), SJM Golden Jubilee B (Small), and SJM Prosperity (Small), and three teams in the women's category: SJM Lotus (Large), SJM Lotus A (Small) and SJM Lotus B (Small). All team members are actively preparing for the races and are determined to achieve outstanding results.

The “2023 SJM Macao International Dragon Boat Races” will take place on 17, 18, and 22 June 2023 at the Nam Van Lake Nautical Centre.
