This year marked the eighth year of sponsorship by SJM Resorts, S.A. (“SJM”) to the China Film Festival, bringing to the Macau residents several outstanding moves, with the goal to promote patriotism through mass media.

Organised by the China Film Foundation and the Macao Media Advancement Association, and supported by the China Film Administration and the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macau SAR, the opening ceremony of the 19^th China Film Festival was held at Macau University of Science and Technology on 28 October 2022. Seven movies of different themes and styles were shown at Cinema Alegria from 29 October to 5 November 2022, namely White Snake, Ordinary Hero, Lighting Up the Starts, Island Keeper, Song of Spring, Almost A Comedy and The Chanting Willows.
