
SJM shares festive joy with residents and visitors
Celebrities Gather to Celebrate Chinese New Year at Grand Lisboa Palace
SJM Resorts, S.A. ("SJM") hosted the "Lucky Rabbit at Grand Lisboa Palace Variety Show" at Jardim Secreto on 25 January 2023, the fourth day of the Chinese New Year. Renowned artistes including Nancy Sit, Amy Fan and Chris Lai made special appearances to sing, play games and also handed out amazing prizes to guests during the festive and auspicious celebrations for the Lunar Holiday.
Over the Chinese New Year period, SJM also held three workshops at the "GLP Art Workshop", allowing parents and children to express their creativity and enjoy quality family time.
Fully supports the San Ma Lo - Pedestrian Zone Pilot Program
In support of the Macau SAR Government's "San Ma Lo - Pedestrian Zone Pilot Program" (22-24 January 2023, first to third day of the Lunar New Year), SJM organised the "SJM Grand Parade," bringing tourists and locals an enthralling performance of dragon and lion dances, complemented by spellbinding dances as the God of Fortune gave out red packets to spectators that contain dining and shopping coupons.
During the event, SJM displayed a blooming Lotus at the San Ma Lo pedestrian zone. The Macau Lotus was jointly created by 14 masters and budding artists which signified art and culture traversing across generations. The inner petals were created by illustrious masters including Lok Hei, Lai Ieng, Ng Wai Kin, Sio In Leong, Lio Man Cheong, and Lao Chon Hong, while the outer petals radiated the energy of young artists like Thomas Lo Si In ("MCZ"), Mel Cheong, Zha Rui, Sit Ka Kit, Nicole Ng, Elvis Mok, Anny Chung, and Wansi Ieong.
Participates in the Float Parade for Celebration of the Year of the Rabbit
On 24 and 28 January 2023, the third and seventh day of the first lunar month, SJM took part in two float parades and cultural spectacles hosted by the Macao Government Tourism Office. Dubbed “Fortune Leaps into the Year of the Rabbit”, the ornately decorated float carries with it eight vibrant rabbits, signifying health, prosperity, longevity, peace, blessedness, happiness, luck and smooth sailing. As it paraded down the bustling streets, it sent visitors and residents well wishes for a prosperous New Year. Holding fans in their hands, the SJM cheerleading squad danced alongside the float to rhythmic music and drumbeat. Under the theme of "Blooming Spring", they showcased the united spirit and vivacious vitality of the people of Macau with their perfectly synchronized choreography.
