
SJM promotes multilateral relations between EU countries and China
The eighth annual gala dinner of the Macau European Chamber of Commerce (“MECC”), themed around “Benelux”, was held at the Grand Pavilion of Grand Lisboa Palace Resort (“GLP”) on 28 October 2022 with over 200 guests and members in attendance. SJM Resorts, S.A. (“SJM”) was a Platinum sponsor of the event since its inauguration. Ambassador Thomas Gnocchi, Head of the EU Office to Hong Kong and Macao and Honorary Chairman of MECC gave his welcome remarks via video.
Ms. Daisy Ho, Managing Director of SJM, said in her speech, “Macau is the nation’s integral platform in facilitation of Sino-European trade and cultural exchanges. Over the years, MECC has made significant contributions in this regard. SJM is also committed to playing a part in this national drive, and looks forward to synergizing an enabling environment for peace and prosperity, and encouraging public-private-partnerships on multiple fronts.” Mr. Rui Pedro Cunha, President of the Board of Directors of MECC, and Dr. Ambrose So, Honorary Consul of Portugal in Hong Kong and Honorary Chairman of MECC expressed appreciation of the support from the Macau community.
The Chamber presented the 8th MECC Awards for EuroExcellence at the gala dinner. THE KARL LAGERFELD at Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau received the EuroExcellence Award in Luxury, in recognition of its impeccable luxury through chic design, superior hospitality, and commitment to providing guests an elegant, stylish hotel experience. Ms. Daisy Ho received the award for the company.
The MECC Awards for EuroExcellence honours the highest local achievements in Luxury, Food and Beverage, Innovation, and Greater Bay Area Sino-Europe Cooperation, in appreciation of their significant contributions to Macau’s sustainable development, global business networking, and promotion of the city’s unique Sino-Western cultural exchange.
