SJM Resorts, S.A. (“SJM”) has been consistently supporting the “Career Experience” internship programme, as organized by the Macau Labour Affairs Bureau (“DSAL”). For the third year running, the programme was founded with the objective of helping graduates from tertiary education institutions in Macau to find job opportunities and put their knowledge to practical use. Through the internships, fresh graduates received on-the-job training in a diverse range of roles, equipping them with the skill set, experience and network, so as to provide a solid foundation for them to pursue future careers. This year, SJM extended internship roles on multiple fronts, including professional, technical and administrative roles. The incumbents were able to gain a holistic experience into SJM’s culture and management philosophy.

SJM organized a graduation ceremony on 28 November 2022 at Grand Lisboa Palace to recognize their hard work and efforts. Director of DSAL Mr. Wong Chi Hong, Deputy Director Mr. Chan Un Tung, Chief of Employment Division Ms. Lee Lai King, Macao Sam Yuk Middle School Dean of Academic Affairs, Mr. Chan Chi Wong, and SJM Director Ms. Angela Leong attended in support. A video showcasing the interns’ work life was shown at the event, which bore witness to the positive learning attitude, team work and collaborative spirit among the students. Ms. Leong remarked, “The strength of a country is evident in the strength of its youth. Our students were born in our country’s golden era, and opportunities awaiting them abound. SJM has always been committed to fostering talents for Macau, encouraging continuous learning and self-development, in order to make solid contributions to the society in the future.” A representative from this year’s internship extended gratitude towards SJM for the robust learning experience, as well as their supervisors and colleagues for their patient guidance.

Ms. Daisy Ho, Managing Director of SJM sent a congratulatory message to the graduates, “Since the launch of the ‘Career Experience’ programme in 2020, over 70 students have completed their internship with SJM. They have consistently outperformed our expectations, and we wish they are now well prepared to transition into the workforce and start their successful careers.”
