
Ball Boy Training Camp for CTA Tour SJM Professional Finals Kick-Off Ceremony
A launch ceremony for the Ball Boy Training Camp in conjunction with the 2022 CTA Tour SJM Professional Finals (Macau) and National Tennis Championships was held on 23 October 2022 at the Macau Tennis Academy. Guests of Honour in attendance include President of the Sports Bureau of Macao SAR Government Mr. Pun Weng Kun, Managing Director of SJM Resorts, S.A. Ms. Daisy Ho, Tournament Director of CTA Tour Ms. Zhou Bing, President of Macau Tennis Association Ms. Louise Ung, Director of Colorfull (Macao) Cultural Technology Consultancy Limited Ms. June Li, and Consultant for the Olympic Striving Group of China National Tennis Team Mr. Zhang Yu.
Organized in association with the Macau Tennis Association, the Ball Boy selection and training camp openly recruited from the local public. The qualifying process comprises two rounds, where participants will receive theory and practical trainings. Those who complete the programme and pass both trainings will be shortlisted to advance to the final round, where they will enter the Macau Tennis Ball Boy Assessment Contest organized by the Macau Tennis Academy. After further rounds of challenges, candidates will make their appearance on the courts at the 2022 Chinese Tennis Association (CTA) Professional Tour Final Stage.
Managing Director of SJM, Ms. Daisy Ho expressed, “SJM is very honoured to once again join hands with Chinese Tennis Association in title-sponsoring the ‘Chinese Tennis Association Professional Tour Final Stage’ in Macau. Through introducing large scale nation-wide sports events to the city, we hope to promote further exchange and integration between Macau and Mainland China. Furthermore, SJM salutes the dedicated services of the ball boys and other volunteers. We received overwhelming response from local youth and their parents for the Ball Boy training camps, through which, we aspire to foster interest, knowledge, and passion of the sport, and to inject a welcome dose of new blood into Chinese tennis sports community and its development.”
