SJM Resorts, S.A. (“SJM”) invited a group of elderly residents from Caritas Macau’s Asilo de Betânia to Grand Lisboa Palace on 26 October 2022 for a leisurely afternoon of gastronomy and culture, expressing care to society in celebration of “Senior Citizen’s Day in MSAR.”

The elderly residents arrived at Grand Lisboa Palace in the afternoon and enjoyed a nostalgic Cantonese dim sum experience at Chalou, which featured classic dishes served from the restaurant’s signature dim sum carts. Following which, the group took a tour around the Grand Lisboa Palace’s diverse leisure features, including a bespoke art collection by local artists adorning the East and West lobbies. They also visited hotel rooms and suites which brim with exquisite charm of Chinoiserie design, and the magnificent European-styled Jardim Secreto, where a series of iconic lantern installations specially designed by local grand masters and young artists for the “Celebration of Art & Culture - Artistic Lantern Festival” event was on exhibit. The group was very impressed by the sophistication of Chinese artisanal heritage and its intersection with the artists’ modern creativity, and enthusiastically took photos of the display. The group enjoyed a memorable afternoon of joy and laughter before returning home.
